The MK series of single Destoners by Maurer are heavy duty and compact, using high-torque motors and large gear boxes mounted on a cold-rolled steel frame to maximum efficiency and usage of the machines, while keeping a minimal footprint. The destoners are supplied with a 5.0mm sieve (perforated drum) for removing stones from cherries. Additional sieves with perforations ranging in size from 0.8mm for separating seeds and leaves from berries, up to 10mm for removing pits from peaches and mangos.
Fruit is loaded into the hopper either manually or via an elevator. The hopper is specifically designed to accommodate standard, large fruit boxes for manual loading. An infeed auger carries the fruit from the hopper to the sieve. Within the sieve is a with a central rotating shaft that has at least three silicone “blades” attached to it that run the length of the drum. The blades are adjustable in depth to allow the stone to pass beneath it as the central shift spins the blades inside the drum. The centrifugal force separates the rest of the fruit from the stone, pushing it through the holes in the drum, while the stone rolls out of the end of the drum.
