The RLV ISO 6-1 by RIZZOLIO is a fully automatic 6-head isobaric bottle filler with automatic closing station. The closing station can be outfitted for Crown Caps, ROPP Aluminum Caps, or "Mushroom" (Champagne-style) Corks with Wire-Hooder, and the corresponding hoppers(s). At the start of the filling cycle, a vacuum is applied to the bottles, creating negative pressure within. The bottles are then filled with gas (CO²), displacing the small amount of remaining oxygen and forcing it to the top of the bottle. A secondary vacuum is then applied to remove the top layer of oxygen before the bottles are filled. The filling nozzles draw product from the overhead filling tank, which is also pressurized with CO². The nozzles force product to flow down the interior sides of the bottles to minimize turbulence and reduce foam. Once the set fill level is reached, the pressure within the bottle is stabilized and the vacuum seal between nozzles and bottle openings is released, allowing the bottles to move on to capping. The layer of carbonized foam between the top of the product and the bottle opening acts as a barrier to prevent oxygen from entering.
The RLV ISO 6-1 is available with the three different closure options: Crown Cap, ROPP Aluminum Cap, or Champaigne Cork with Wire-Hood.
- The Crown Capper can be outfitted for either 26mm or 29mm caps. If desired, it can also be manufactured with an upgraded hopper than can accommodate both cap diameter, and interchangeable feeding system & closing chuck that can be switched out to for the intended cap.
- The closing station for ROPP Aluminum Caps incudes a hopper, feeding system, and cap applicator specific to the style and size of cap being used. The closing head is manufactured and tuned for the end user's exact bottle and cap configuration.
- For Champagne Corks, there are two separate components to the closing station—the first being the corker itself, and the second being the wire-hooder. Champagne corks are 25% wider and 30% more dense than "standard" corks for still wines, requiring more pressure from the jaws to condense the bottom-half of the cork for insertion into the bottle. The wire-hooder compresses the top-half of the cork down, giving the cork that "mushroom"-look while it winds the wires to secure it, and the cork beneath, in place.
